Netherlands to provide Ukraine with additional EUR 22 million

The Netherlands is allocating an additional EUR 22 million to Ukraine for air defense and cybersecurity.

This was written by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Caspar Veldkamp, on X (Twitter).

"At yesterday's meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, I emphasized the importance of strengthening Ukraine's military potential. The Netherlands is allocating an additional EUR 22 million for projects aimed at Ukraine's air defense and cyber resilience," he noted.

According to Veldkamp, russia's actions directly threaten NATO. In this regard, he mentioned "the build-up of military presence, airspace incursions and acts of sabotage."

"We should be equally concerned that third countries are contributing to the russian war machine. This requires a more decisive and coordinated response from NATO and its members. First of all, we must continue our course in support of Ukraine. There is simply no alternative," the Dutch Foreign Minister said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 4, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the alliance countries would provide Ukraine with air defense systems, which Kyiv had requested the day before.

On December 3, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called on partners to urgently transfer 20 air defense systems to Kyiv. They are needed to protect the country's energy infrastructure this winter.

In 2025, Ukraine's partners will allocate a total of almost USD 28 billion to provide military assistance to Kyiv.
