NATO doubles arms deliveries to Ukraine to bolster its position ahead of talks - Bloomberg

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is doubling its military aid to Ukraine in an effort to bolster its position as much as possible ahead of possible talks with aggressor country of russia.

This was reported by Bloomberg, citing its own sources.

According to unnamed sources familiar with the matter, Ukraine’s partners have shifted their focus from a desire for victory to an attempt to put President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the best possible position.

This means that NATO is doubling its efforts to supply new weapons to Ukraine as the Ukrainian army slowly retreats. The russian advance poses a threat that a possible ceasefire could freeze the conflict at a time when most of the country will be under occupation.

It is noted that Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election has forced NATO countries to think about how to strengthen Ukraine's political will to continue the war, as morale is starting to wane.

The agency writes that while NATO foreign ministers focused on how to supply Ukraine with more weapons, the governments of these states began to consider various scenarios for ending the war.

Bloomberg's interlocutors said that security guarantees that would protect Ukraine but not provoke putin are currently being discussed.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 4, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the alliance countries would provide Ukraine with air defense systems, which Kyiv had requested the day before.

Recall, on December 3, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called on partners to urgently transfer 20 air defense systems to Kyiv. They are needed to protect the country's energy infrastructure this winter.

We also wrote that in 2025, Ukraine's partners will allocate a total of almost USD 28 billion to provide military assistance to Kyiv.
