Russians attempt to break through to Kupyansk, but were destroyed - CCD head Kovalenko

Russian military personnel attempted to break through to Kupyansk (Kharkiv Region), but were destroyed by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

This was announced by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Andrii Kovalenko, on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The russian army really attempted to break through to Kupyansk today. Several units of equipment and infantry went to break through and were destroyed by our forces," he said.

According to him, now the enemy at the front is generally making such "rolls", trying to break through to the residential sector or the outskirts, land troops and gain a foothold until reinforcements arrive.

He noted that the Ukrainian soldiers worked well today.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in late November, the spokesman for the operational-strategic group Khortytsia Nazar Voloshyn reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had cleared Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, of russian occupiers, who in mid-November were able to break through to the eastern part of the city. Not only the settlement itself is under the control of the Ukrainian military, but also the approaches to it.

In November, Kovalenko reported that the information that the enemy had established itself in Kupyansk was not true.
