The Ukrainian Palianytsia drone missile has entered mass production.
Defense Minister Rustem Umerov wrote about this in a blog on LB.ua.
He noted that in modern warfare, missiles are a key element for delivering strikes deep behind enemy lines, since drones, although effective, are less powerful. And the use of foreign missiles often requires coordination with partners.
It is reported that Ukrainian cruise and ballistic missiles will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to act independently, delivering pinpoint strikes on key enemy targets.
"President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that this year Ukraine has already produced the first 100 missiles. This was made possible thanks to the work of the Ministry of Defense, which coordinates both state and private initiatives in rocketry. In particular, the serial production of R-360 cruise missiles of the Neptun complex has been resumed and scaled up. Modified missiles are now capable of hitting targets at longer ranges. Private enterprises are also demonstrating incredible results. For example, a new startup has implemented the project of the Palianytsia missile, which has already entered serial production thanks to the support of the Ministry of Defense," the minister wrote.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 24, during the celebrations on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had first used the new Palianytsia drone missile, which it used to hit the enemy. The President stressed that it will be difficult for russia to counter these missiles, moreover, it will be very difficult for the russians to even say what exactly came at them.
According to the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, the long-range Ukrainian-made drone missile Palianytsia costs less than USD 1 million.
