Cabinet appoints ex-MP Shkrum as Kuleba's first deputy

The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed former MP Aliona Shkrum as First Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development.

This is stated in order No. 1196 dated December 3, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"To appoint Aliona Ivanivna Shkrum as First Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine," the order states.

The Cabinet of Ministers also appointed Kostiantyn Kovalchuk, who previously worked at Ukrtransgaz, as Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development by order No. 1197 dated December 3.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 3, the Verkhovna Rada prematurely terminated the powers of Aliona Shkrum, MP from the All-Ukrainian Union Batkivshchyna faction, in connection with her filing a corresponding application.

Shkrum, 36, - since 2019, she has been a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the VIII and IX convocations from the Batkivshchyna party, she was a member of the committee on finance, tax and customs policy. In 2014, Shkrum was an advocacy expert at the Right to Protection charity foundation (Kyiv), which is a partner of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

In September, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Vice Prime Minister for Recovery - Minister of Community and Territorial Development, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Oleksii Kuleba.
