The Verkhovna Rada has appointed the deputy head of the Office of the President, Oleksii Kuleba, as the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine - the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories.
Member of Parliament from the Holos faction, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
240 parliamentarians voted for the relevant decision, with the minimum required of 226.
"The appointment of O.V. Kuleba to the post of Deputy-Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine - Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine has passed. FOR -240. In fact, he will be in three ministries at once," he wrote.
At the same time, Zhelezniak noted that only 167 parliamentarians from the coalition voted for his appointment.
Kuleba has held the position of deputy head of the Office of the President since January 2023.
Before that, he was the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration in February-March and since May 2022.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the head of the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Davyd Arakhamia, said that on September 4, a meeting of the monomajority faction took place, at which personnel renewal was discussed and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy joined.
According to him, based on the results of the meeting, the factions worked out a general picture of personnel rotations to strengthen the state, in particular, they decided to appoint the deputy head of the President's Office, Oleksii Kuleba, as the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure.
At the same time, Arakhamia noted that Kuleba will head the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure as it currently works, later, as it was planned, it will be divided according to the directions of infrastructure and regional policy.
The Rada dismissed the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine - the Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov in May, after that the duties of the Minister were performed by the First Deputy Minister Vasyl Shkurakov.
The Rada explained that Kubrakov was fired in order to create a separate Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure.
