Ukrainian military conducts offensive operation in Kursk Oblast, shelling of Sumy Region intensifies – Regional Military Administration

In the Sumy Region, the intensity of shelling of border areas has increased against the backdrop of the offensive operation of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk Oblast.

The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Volodymyr Artiukh stated this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

He noted that the intensity of shelling from the russian side has increased in those areas through which Ukrainian fighters entered the Kursk Oblast.

"Where our troops entered the territory of the Kursk Oblast, the number of attacks increased. And the number of artillery systems, machine guns, small arms decreased, because the enemy was pushed back 20-30 km from the border," said Artiukh.

According to him, the number of air strikes has now significantly increased - 30-40 launches of KABs (guided aerial bombs) per day.

"If last year these were isolated cases, now it is happening on a systematic basis. We are recording strikes on our critical infrastructure facilities and on settlements - private houses or high-rise buildings," the head of the Regional Military Administration replied.

He believes that the Russian Federation by intensifying shelling wants to demoralize the population and force them to leave the territories where people live.

We will remind you that during the battle in the Kursk Oblast, paratroopers captured 11 russians who are former prisoners.
