A "temporary" cession of Ukraine's territories to the aggressor country russia could be an option for a quick end to the war. Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this in an interview with the German publication Table.Briefings on Monday, December 2.
Stoltenberg emphasized that he considers Ukraine's "temporary" cession of territory to the russian federation an option for achieving a quick end to the war. According to him, even if russia continues to control the occupied territories after the ceasefire, this will not mean Ukraine's abandonment of them.
"If the ceasefire line means that Russia continues to control all the occupied territories, this does not mean that Ukraine should abandon this territory forever," the former NATO Secretary General said.
In addition, Stoltenberg said that such actions would indicate that "we all want an end to the war."
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, on September 5, Stoltenberg said that Ukraine had achieved "a lot" in its Kursk offensive against the aggressor country russia.
Recall that in June of this year it became known that Jens Stoltenberg was stepping down as NATO Secretary General. He took up the post on October 1, 2014.
Mark Rutte, the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, was elected to replace Stoltenberg.
