Russian troops attacked Ternopil with drones on the night of December 1-2. The attack occurred on a five-story building, as a result of which there is killed and wounded. This was reported by the mayor of the city, Serhii Nadal, in Telegram.
According to him, rescuers and other services are working at the scene.
"The enemy attacked Ternopil again with drones. There is a fire in a residential building. Relevant services are working at the scene," Nadal wrote.
The head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Viyacheslav Nehoda, specified that as a result of hitting a residential building, one person was killed and several were wounded. Rescue work and evacuation of residents are ongoing.
The enemy drone caused a fire on the upper floors.
Later, Nadal added that the drone hit the upper floors of a five-story building on Yevhena Konovaltsia Street. The fire that occurred as a result of the hit damaged apartments on the fifth floor, partially affecting the fourth and third.
"At this moment, rescue and special services are still working. There are killed and seriously wounded. Doctors are doing everything possible to save the wounded," the post says.
The city authorities are organizing temporary housing for those left homeless. They promised to provide other details later.
According to the State Emergency Service, one person was killed, three were wounded, and about 100 residents were evacuated.
The blast wave damaged windows of neighboring buildings, schools, and 20 cars.
Psychologists are working on the scene and a mobile invincibility center has been deployed for the victims. The State Emergency Service calls on not to ignore alarm signals.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, russian drones damaged a power facility in the Ternopil Region that supplies electricity to the region.
