Russian invaders shot another four Ukrainian prisoners of war. This happened in the Pokrovsk District, an investigation has been launched.
The Prosecutor General's Office has reported this.
According to the investigation, on November 22, 2024, the russians launched an attack on a position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located near the village of Petrivka, Pokrovsk District.
"During the enemy assault, four servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine forcibly surrendered. Immediately after that, the occupiers opened fire on them with automatic weapons," the report says.
The deliberate killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualifies as a grave international crime.
Investigative actions are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime and the persons involved in its commission.
The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into the fact of violation of laws and customs, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Recall, according to the prosecutor's office, another shooting of Ukrainian soldiers on the Pokrovsk axis occurred on November 10 and 13.
