Occupiers shoot 5 Ukrainian POWs in Pokrovsk Axis - prosecutor's office

The Donetsk regional prosecutor's office is investigating the fact of the shooting by the occupiers of 5 captured servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Pokrovsk Axis.

It is reported that on November 13, 2024, the occupiers began an assault on the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the area of ​​the village of Petrivka, Pokrovsk district. 5 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, having retreated, took refuge in a private house, which after some time was surrounded by the enemy.

Representatives of the occupation army took them prisoner and forced them, unarmed, to come out of the shelter and lie on the ground. After that, the invaders shot the defenders with automatic weapons.

"Urgent investigative (search) actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident. The killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualifies as a grave international crime," the report says.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched in criminal proceedings into the commission of a war crime that caused the death of people (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
