Ukraine has received USD 100 million from the Republic of Korea.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
This is the first budget assistance from our Korean partners, which will be aimed at supporting the social sphere.
"This year, an agreement was signed between our governments that will allow attracting up to USD 2.1 billion. I am grateful to the Republic of Korea for supporting Ukraine in the conditions of a full-scale war," the Prime Minister concluded.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 2, Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko signed a loan agreement with the Export-Import Bank of Korea to attract USD 100 million.
In April 2024, an agreement was signed between the governments of Ukraine and the Republic of Korea that allows Ukraine to attract loans of up to USD 2.1 billion during 2024–2029.
