Reducing the mobilization age in Ukraine makes no sense, since the weapons and other military equipment previously promised by partners are not arriving on time.
This was written by Dmytro Lytvyn, an advisor to the President of Ukraine, on November 27 on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
According to him, due to delays on the part of partners, Ukraine cannot provide weapons to already mobilized servicemen.
Lytvyn added that partners have full access to information and can compare the assistance they promised with actual supplies.
"We cannot expect that Ukraine will compensate for delays in logistics or indecision in support at the expense of young people on the front," the presidential advisor wrote.
Lytvyn's words came against the background of information that the current US administration has again called on Ukraine to lower the mobilization age to 18.
As a reminder, on November 27, a number of media outlets reported that an unnamed US administration official said that Ukraine should lower the mobilization age because there is allegedly a shortage of people at the front. Earlier in July of this year, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that there are 14 brigades in the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but they cannot participate in combat operations due to a lack of weapons.
