AFU reserve has 14 brigades, but they are not fighting yet due to insufficient weapons — Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that there are 14 brigades in the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They cannot take part in hostilities due to a lack of weapons.

Zelenskyy made a corresponding statement during today's press conference, his words are quoted by RBC-Ukraine.

Zelenskyy said that these are not new brigades. They were created quite a long time ago and now make up the reserve of the Armed Forces.

"The main thing is that you have reserves - first of all, this is for carrying out rotations. This was my task - we needed rotations so that the guys could rest," the President said.

He called these units fresher compared to those currently fighting on the front line.

The President added that these brigades have already begun to partially receive Western weapons, in particular, artillery.

Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of Ukraine receiving military aid in the full amount previously promised by the West.

"If you have 40 billion in military aid written in your package, then it is very important <...> that it arrives, and not later we find out that 7 billion arrived, and the rest somewhere along the way was spent on one or other things," said the President.

We will remind you that earlier today during the press conference, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the mobilization is going according to plan. The lack of training grounds for personnel training remains a problem.

The President also commented on the words of the head of the Defense Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, who the day before called the russian offensive from the north a "real" threat.
