The russians are planning a large-scale cyberattack on the UK, which could leave millions of people without electricity.
The Telegraph writes about this with reference to a planned statement by British Cabinet Minister Pat McFadden.
To do this, russian dictator vladimir putin allegedly wants to inflict a "destabilizing and debilitating" electronic strike on the UK.
"Russia is extremely aggressive and reckless in cyberspace and wants to gain a strategic advantage and humiliate states that support Ukraine," McFadden will say in an address.
According to him, the attack could "lead to a shutdown of power grids and deal a devastating blow to the economy."
He added that last year russian cyberattacks had already intensified, and their victims were the media, telecommunications, and energy infrastructure.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in May, hackers attacked the payroll system of current military personnel and some veterans in the UK.
The UK's National Cyber Security Centre has publicly stated that Unit 29155 of the russian military intelligence (GRU) is responsible for a series of offensive cyber operations around the world, starting at least in 2020.
