Zelenskyy deprives 34 traitors of state awards of Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has implemented the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to deprive Ukraine of state awards, and the first list includes 34 traitors.

The Office of the President has announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Among them are former government officials, parliamentarians, heads of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General's Office, prosecutors, artists, russian political, religious and cultural figures.

The maximum set of sanctions - 21 types - has been applied to ten of them. This includes not only the deprivation of state awards of Ukraine, but also, in particular, the blocking of assets, the cancellation of licenses and permits, and the complete cessation of trade operations.

Among them, sanctions have been applied to seven for the first time, in particular, the former first deputy leader of the political party Party of Regions and the head of the corresponding faction, Oleksandr Yefremov, who had the Orders For Merit of the 1st-3rd degrees and Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 5th degree.

Former First Deputy Prosecutor General Renat Kuzmin had the Orders of Merit of the 2nd-3rd degrees and the title of Honored Lawyer of Ukraine.

Eight people who are already under other sanctions of Ukraine were also deprived of state awards of Ukraine.

Former MP of the 2nd-4th and 9th convocations Viktor Medvedchuk was awarded the Orders of Merit of the 1st-3rd degrees and the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 5th degree, and had the title of Honored Lawyer of Ukraine.

Former Minister of Education and Science (2010–2014) Dmytro Tabachnyk had the Orders of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 4th-5th degrees and the title of Honored Worker of Science and Technology.

Former Prime Minister (2010–2014) Mykola Azarov was awarded the Orders of Merit of the 1st-3rd degrees and the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 5th degree, and also had the title of Honored Economist of Ukraine.

In addition, the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine (2010–2014) Viktor Pshonka, who had the Order of Merit of the 3rd degree, was also deprived of his state award.

Former MP of the 3rd-9th convocations Andrii Derkach had the Order of Merit of the 3rd degree.

The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church and former KGB agent Patriarch Kirill was awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 1st degree.

Russian singers Nikolay Baskov, Filip Kirkorov, Aleksandr Malinin, russian composer Igor Krutoy were deprived of the honorary title of People's Artist of Ukraine, and singers Karolina Kuiek (Ani Lorak) and Taisiia Povalii were also deprived of the title of"Honored Artist of Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 20, the Verkhovna Rada adopted Bill No. 11410 initiated by Zelenskyy, which provides for the deprivation of state awards of Ukraine of persons who have been convicted of grave or especially grave crimes, criminal offenses against the foundations of national security of Ukraine, against peace, the security of humanity and international law, certain crimes against public security, and those who promote the aggressor state or justify the occupation of Ukraine.
