Xi Jinping tells Macron that China does not want expansion or escalation of russian-Ukrainian war

The head of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, said that he does not want to see the expansion or escalation of the russian-Ukrainian war.

This was reported by the Chinese state news agency Xinhua on November 19.

The agency writes that at the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Xi Jinping met with French President Emmanuel Macron.

He told him that China does not want the crisis to spread or the conflict to escalate further.

"China's position on the crisis in Ukraine is consistent, and China hopes that the conflict will be defused," the agency quotes Xi Jinping as saying.

The Chinese leader made this statement against the backdrop of information that Ukraine used American ATACMS ballistic missiles to strike the Bryansk Oblast of the russian federation.

Recall, on November 17, the American publication The New York Times wrote, citing its own sources, that the current US President Joseph Biden allowed Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles to strike russian territory.

And today, November 19, the russian Ministry of Defense stated that six ATACMS missiles were allegedly fired at a military arsenal in the Bryansk Oblast.

We also wrote that the United Nations called for "protecting russian civilians" in the event of missile strikes by Ukraine.
