Ukraine to have military ombudsman - Zelenskyy

A military ombudsman will appear in Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this at the presentation of the Resilience Plan in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the military command must elect and appoint a military ombudsman, a person who will enjoy, first of all, the trust of the military," Zelenskyy said.

He emphasized that within the Defense Forces there should be confidential opportunities for soldiers to resolve problems arising from violations of their rights.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also emphasized that it is necessary to talk about complex issues in our army, because effective solutions are possible only with an honest conversation about mobilization, reservations, and the military reserve system.

"Problems need to be solved, not silenced. The reasons must be found out and eliminated," he added.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in the first days of the transfer function in the Army+ application, more than 500 transfers have already been approved. Zelenskyy also denied the possibility of reducing the mobilization age.
