Weeks needed to completely abandon power outage schedules - Advisor to Prime Minister Boiko

After the russian missile and drone attack on November 17 on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, weeks are needed to recover, weeks are needed to completely abandon power outage schedules.

This was stated by Advisor to the Prime Minister Yurii Boiko on the air of Kyiv24.

Boiko said that the situation with electricity will improve in a few days, but the power outage schedules will still remain and reported on the situation in the Odesa Region. According to him, more than 60% of consumers in the Odesa Region have been restored. At the same time, the scale of the damage is the greatest there.

"We expect to significantly improve the situation with the schedules in a few days. If we talk about completely abandoning them, then I'm afraid that such a forecast will require not days, but weeks," he said.

He added that power engineers are working around the clock in three shifts to quickly carry out all repair work.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of November 17, the aggressor country of russia launched a massive combined strike on Ukrainian energy facilities with various types of air, land and sea-based missiles, as well as Shahed-type strike drones.

Power engineers will need 3-4 days to restore the power system, but power outages may occur next week.

Meanwhile, during peak hours, there is a significant power deficit in the power system, and electricity consumption in Ukraine remains at a high level.
