Taiwan secretly transfers to Ukraine batch of HAWK systems up to 15 units - Forbes

Taiwan secretly transferred 15 of its obsolete HAWK air defense systems manufactured by the American company Raytheon to Ukraine.

This is reported by Forbes.

The Ukrainian Air Force could receive not only missiles, but also HAWK launchers with radars, which will "complement" the systems provided to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the United States and Spain. It is also reported that the HAWK battery has no less than six three-missile launchers and their associated radars.

15 HAWK batteries are considered a significant support of the Ukrainian air defense, which operates daily against russian air targets, Forbes notes, and according to estimates, batteries from Taiwan can make up to a third of the forces of the Ukrainian air defense.

The publication also reports that the HAWK is not as powerful as the Patriot, but it is simple, reliable, highly mobile, easily upgradeable and "works great" against drones, cruise missiles and aircraft, and one of the HAWK missiles is compatible with another, more modern NASAMS air defense system.

We will remind, it was previously reported that the Minister of Defense of Spain, Margarita Robles, announced the urgent transfer of the MIM-23 Hawk anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine.

Last year, in November, new training of the Ukrainian military on the HAWK air defense system began in Spain.
