New brigades are created in the Armed Forces of Ukraine instead of replenishing the existing ones to counter the prevailing enemy in order to prevent breakthroughs at the front.
The spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Captain Dmytro Lykhovii, told about this in a comment to Ukrainian Pravda on Wednesday, November 6.
According to him, recently the aggressor country russia has increased the number of troops by almost 100,000 people, at the same time the length of the front line has increased to 1300 km. At the moment, the Armed Forces cannot quickly replenish the brigades, and in some places the enemy has a 5-fold advantage on the battle line, Lykhovii said.
"Also, it should be understood that the people who replenish a unit must undergo adaptation and coordination in it, and this takes time. That is why, to strengthen the section of the front where there is a threat of a breakthrough, an already formed unit is used, which is ready to perform the task in the shortest possible time terms. In addition, brigades are also needed for rotation and replacement of already existing brigades," said the spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
Lykhovii emphasized that it is not possible to replenish brigades after significant losses, as they require combat coordination. To replace and remove such people from the front, new brigades are needed, said the spokesman of the General Staff.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 29, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a counteroffensive of Ukraine is possible this year.
In addition, Ukraine is strengthening the tracking of violators of mobilization legislation and military accounting rules.
We would like to remind you that there is a hotline for the mobilization and registration of persons liable for military service in Ukraine, where you can complain about the work of territorial recruitment and social support centers.
