Iran is preparing a new attack on Israel, in the implementation of which Tehran wants to involve not only the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), but also units of the republic's regular army.
The Wall Street Journal reported this with reference to unnamed Iranian and Arab officials.
Interlocutors of the publication said that the day before Iran warned diplomats from Arab countries that it was preparing a new attack on Israel. It is supposed to be a response to the attack of the Israeli army on October 25, which it carried out on the Islamic Republic in response to the attack on October 1.
Iran has told Arab diplomats that its regular army will be involved in a new strike on Israel. Previously, only the servicemen of the Kyrgyz Republic participated in such attacks.
"Our military has lost people, so they must react," the publication quoted an unnamed Iranian diplomat as saying.
According to him, Iran can use the territory of Iraq to carry out part of the operation, during which it will again try to attack the objects of the Israeli army, but "much more aggressively than last time".
The interlocutors of the publication emphasized that this time Iran does not intend to limit itself to missiles and drones, which it used during the attack on Israel on October 1. According to them, Iranian missiles will be equipped with more powerful warheads.
The publication notes that it is currently unclear whether Iran really intends to attack Israel or whether it is just "tough talk".
As a result of an Israeli missile attack on October 25, the Iranian army lost strategic air defense systems. This makes the country defenseless against possible strikes by the Israeli army for the next few years.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 3, the Axios portal wrote, citing its own sources, that the United States asked Iran to refrain from a new attack on Israel, as Washington fears that it will not be able to deter Jerusalem from a more devastating response than it did on October 25.
