US finances 800 Ukrainian mobile fire groups, which shot down 200 Shaheds since beginning of year

During the year, the U.S. Department of State financed 800 mobile fire teams of the National Guard and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, which have shot down more than 200 Shaheds since the beginning of the year.

The U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink announced this on X (formerly Twitter), the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Mobile Fire Teams are saving lives with their successful work protecting people and critical infrastructure being attacked by Russia. Proud that the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State has funded 800 of these teams which have shot down over 200 drones since Jan 1, 2024," she wrote.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 2, a member of the Verkhovna Rada, Mariana Bezuhla, said that "the air defense forces are being transferred to the infantry", which is why, in her opinion, Shaheds are being shot down worse.

After that, the correspondent of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, former head of the public relations service of the Air Forces Yurii Ihnat confirmed that many people from the Air Forces’ units are being sent to the infantry.

However, he denied that this affected the quality of the shooting down of Shaheds.
