Canada is preparing a new package of sanctions against the aggressor country of russia due to the deportation of Ukrainian children and other civilians.
Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets announced this in his Telegram channel.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Mélanie Joly, announced the new package of sanctions.
"I would like to emphasize that the introduction of sanctions is one of the methods of putting pressure on the russian federation. At the same time, we need sanctions not only against the country itself, but also against certain officials, who are involved in the deportation of children and the illegal abduction of civilians," Lubinets wrote.
We will remind, earlier Lubinets announced that Australia joined the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. In total, 41 countries joined the Coalition.
More than 1,700 children are considered missing due to the war. At least such data are listed in the Unified Register of Persons Disappeared Under Special Circumstances.
Earlier, ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported that the aggressor country of russia kidnapped more than 20,000 Ukrainian children.
