This was reported by the human rights ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.
The commissioner spoke at the third plenary event of the international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children.
"I informed those present that the russian federation kidnapped more than 20,000 children from Ukraine. However, there is a high risk of deportation for another 1.5 million children, who remain in the temporarily occupied territories. The personal data of forcibly displaced and deported persons is changed so that their relatives and the Motherland do not were able to find and return them," the ombudsman said.
As Lubinets noted, Ukrainian children are sent to so-called "re-education camps" where they are being brainwashed with russian propaganda.
He also told his partners about the deportation of residential institutions, such as the Oleshkivskyi children's boarding house in the Kherson Region. The pupils were first moved to the occupied territories, and then deported to russia. Children from the Kherson regional children's home were generally deported to russia and adopted without permission.
"We are aware of the facts that Ukrainian orphans taken to the russian federation receive inadequate medical care and have substandard living conditions," the ombudsman added.
It will be recalled that journalists recorded four cases of the appearance on russian adoption websites of announcements about the adoption of children stolen from Ukraine during the occupation.
