A water leak was detected in one of the reactors at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP. At the moment, repair work is ongoing there.
This was reported by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
It is noted that on October 29 they received data about a water leak in the coolant system of one of the reactors of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. After assessing the situation, experts began repair work, and radiographic inspection of the welds is currently underway.
"The agency will continue to closely monitor this issue. Although we do not see any immediate problems for nuclear safety," IAEA director general Rafael Grossi said.
The IAEA also added that this reactor, like five others at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, is in cold shutdown mode and does not produce electricity for the grid.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 4, a car exploded in the occupied Enerhodar of the Zaporizhzhia Region, inside which was the "chief of security" of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
The recently occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was again almost on the verge of blackout due to shelling from the sides of the army of the aggressor country of russia.
