The Verkhovna Rada is developing a unified system of the tariff grid for the salaries of "budget workers" and officials.
The Speaker of the Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, said this at a briefing, answering questions from the Ukrainian News agency.
"I think that the parliament will do everything necessary so that in the end there is a single tariff grid for everyone who works for the state. And people should have the opportunity to choose. You either go to work for the state, but you see your guarantees, social guarantees, the level of wages, or you go to work in business and pay taxes in order to help society receive the state apparatus," he said.
According to him, in the near future, the Rada will move on to developing a fair approach to normalizing the issues of payments for everyone who works for the state.
"There are two options: either a higher coefficient is set, i.e. the highest salary in the country, and a downward coefficient is already derived from it, or a single minimum is established, but an upward coefficient with a fixed maximum is set from it," Stefanchuk explained about the models of the new tariff grid.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the state budget of Ukraine for 2025 in the first reading.
According to the draft state budget, the minimum salary will be UAH 8,000, the living wage – UAH 2,920.
