The European Commission advised to review the expediency of the United News telethon and doubted that it is the best platform for free exchange of opinions.

Instead, Suspilne was praised for its neutral presentation of information and its independent supervisory board. They added that state financing of the channel could be a problem.
They also criticized the state TV channel Rada, which was supposed to report on events in the parliament and build a dialogue with the opposition.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the contract of the current chairman of the board of National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine JSC Mykola Chernotytskyi expires on May 14, 2025.
About half of Ukrainians, that is, roughly half, believe that the united telethon has lost its relevance.
In May, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy announced the transformation of the United News national telethon.
