Zelenskyy proposes Rada approve dismissal of Prosecutor General Kostin

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposes to the Verkhovna Rada to approve the dismissal of Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin.

The relevant draft resolution No. 12153 on granting consent to the President's dismissal of Kostin from the post of Prosecutor General was registered on the website of the Verkhovna Rada on October 28, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

On October 22, after the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), which discussed the situation with the medical and social expert commissions (MSEC) and abuses in the prosecutor's office, Kostin announced that he was submitting an application for dismissal from his post.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 22, Zelenskyy held a meeting of the NSDC regarding the situation with MSECs and the abuse of disability by prosecutors, after which he declared that Kostin should bear political responsibility for the situation in the prosecutor's offices.
