The Deputy Commander of the Estonian Defense Intelligence Center, Janek Kesselmann, stated this, ERR reports.
He noted that the russian occupation troops continue to advance along the entire front line, this became possible thanks to the so-called "meat assaults", during which "Russia cynically wastes its personnel."
"Russia's losses are quite high. And this month seems to be one of the largest in terms of losses for Russia. According to our estimates, the enemy will lose about 40,000 servicemen during the month, both wounded and killed," Kesselmann said.
According to him, the russians are currently focused on the Pokrovsk axis - near the towns of Selydove and Kurakhove.
Kesselmann said that recently the russian tactic is not to enter settlements, as this requires more complex preparation.
"That's why they besiege settlements with indirect fire. After the settlement is surrounded, they simply destroy it. A very cynical and disgusting thing," Kesselmann added.
Recall that British intelligence reported that the occupiers were able to enter Selydove. Fighting is likely to continue in the central part of the city.
