22 disabled prosecutors work in Prosecutor General's Office

There are 22 disabled prosecutors working in the Prosecutor General's Office.

This was announced in the Prosecutor General's Office, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

867 prosecutors work in the Office, 22 of them are disabled.

This is 2.5% of the total number of prosecutors working in the central office.

Of them, almost 91% of disabled people are men, and 9% are women.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Prosecutor General's Office found almost 30% of prosecutors with disabilities in the Khmelnytskyi and Cherkasy Regions. On October 22, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the situation with medical and social expert commissions (MSEC) and abuses of disability by officials, after which he declared that Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin should bear political responsibility for the situation in the prosecutor's offices. After the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, Kostin announced that he was submitting an application for dismissal from his post. According to the mass media, 38% of the management staff of the prosecutor's office have registered for disability. This was reported by the publication Economic Pravda with reference to the data of interlocutors from the economic bloc of the government.
