Sending troops from North Korea to participate in the war against Ukraine could lead to a significant escalation.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has stated this, according to the Alliance's website.
At the same time, the NATO Secretary General noted that there is currently no official information that would confirm these actions.
“If that would be the case, if they would be sending troops to Ukraine, that would mark a significant escalation. That would really be important, a significant escalation. So at this moment, I cannot confirm it. Other than that we will get the latest update from South Korea earlier next week,” Rutte said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 22, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that North Korea is preparing to send two units, each of which has 6,000 people.
The representative of North Korea at the UN called the accusations about Pyongyang sending its soldiers to participate in the war against Ukraine groundless.
Meanwhile, according to the media, the DPRK sent not only ground troops to the russian federation, but also combat aircraft pilots.
