The new aid package, announced by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on October 21 during a visit to Kyiv, includes ammunition for HIMARS systems, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, and other weapons.
This is reported in the Pentagon's letter to the media, which was published in X by The Wall Street Journal journalist Lara Seligman.
According to this letter, the US will provide Ukraine with:
- ammunition for HIMARS;
- 155-mm and 105-mm artillery ammunition;
- 60-mm, 81-mm, and 120-mm caliber mortar systems and shells for them;
- TOW anti-tank missiles;
- Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank complexes;
- M113 armored personnel carriers;
- satellite means of communication;
- firearms and ammunition;
- grenades and training equipment;
- equipment and ammunition for demolition works;
- equipment for the protection of critical national infrastructure;
- spare parts and auxiliary equipment.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Austin announced a new US military aid package for Ukraine worth USD 400 million.
Zelenskyy discussed with US Secretary of Defense Austin the expansion of the use of long-range weapons against russian military targets.
