It is known about more than 100 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), who were executed by the aggressor state of russia, after being captured by it. Ukrainian law enforcement agencies do everything possible to fix such crimes.
This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.
"Currently, it is known about more than a hundred Ukrainian soldiers who were executed by the russians when they were captured. This is a conscious policy of russia, but international organizations turn a blind eye to it. I do not see any public or legal reaction to these events - arrest warrants for war criminals still not," the message says.
He noted that law enforcement agencies are doing everything possible to fix such crimes. The Ombudsman also informed that he had officially handed over the materials on the facts of the executions to the Commissioner for Human Rights in the russian federation.
"It is clear that russia's reaction to the violation of the Geneva Conventions is to be expected, but my task is to record these facts. We are doing everything to make the international community aware of this," he explained.
At the same time, in Lubinets' opinion, the russians kill prisoners not only to demonstrate contempt for international law, but also to "bind the blood" of the perpetrators and support their own propaganda.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 6, in the territory of the village of New York in the Donetsk Region, the russian occupiers shot a captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was probably wounded and lying on the ground without a weapon.
Previously, the DeepState service, with reference to sources in the 1st separate tank brigade, reported that in the Kursk Oblast, the russians shot nine Ukrainian soldiers who were probably trying to surrender because they did not have ammunition.
Law enforcement officers have started an investigation into the alleged shooting of nine Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk Oblast (the aggressor country of the russian federation). The case was classified as a violation of the laws and customs of war.
