Criminal proceedings initiated regarding alleged shooting of 9 Ukrainian prisoners of war – Prosecutor General

Law enforcement officers have started an investigation into the alleged shooting of nine Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk Oblast (the aggressor country of the russian federation). The case was classified as a violation of the laws and customs of war.

Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin announced this on his Facebook page.

"The Prosecutor General's Office has initiated criminal proceedings regarding the alleged shooting of nine Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Kursk Oblast. The killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and an international crime," Kostin wrote.

He added that an investigation has been launched into a violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder.

"We are doing everything to identify and punish all the perpetrators of the crimes committed by the aggressor country against Ukraine and Ukrainians," the Prosecutor General stressed.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the DeepState service, citing sources in the 1st Separate Tank Brigade, reported that in the Kursk Oblast, the russians shot nine Ukrainian soldiers who were probably trying to surrender because they did not have ammunition.
