Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha said that the aggressor country russia is preparing to attack nuclear energy facilities of Ukraine.
He said this at the meeting of foreign ministers of the Nordic-Baltic eight countries in Odesa, his words are quoted by Ukrinform.
According to him, Ukraine has information that the russians are preparing strikes on nuclear power plants and other nuclear energy facilities.
Sybiha emphasized that for this reason, Ukraine insists on lifting restrictions on strikes deep into russian territory.
"This is our right, according to the UN charter, as a country that defends itself. This right to self-defense is justified," Sybiha added.
Recall that on September 24, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the russians are conducting satellite photography of Ukraine's nuclear facilities, which indicates that the occupiers are preparing to launch strikes on them.
We also reported that in September, Ukraine informed the IAEA about russia's intentions to attack nuclear power plants.
In addition, Polish President Andrzej Duda said earlier that Warsaw intends to intervene if russia attacks a nuclear power plant in the west of Ukraine.
