President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the aggressor country of russia uses Chinese satellites to photograph Ukrainian nuclear power plants, which may indicate preparations for strikes on them.
Zelenskyy said this in an interview with ABC News on Tuesday, September 24.
Zelenskyy accused russia of using Chinese satellites to photograph Ukrainian nuclear power plants, possibly in preparation for possible strikes on them.
"The latest information is that russia used Chinese satellites and photographed details on nuclear facilities. And from our experience, if russia photographs certain facilities, there is a threat of strikes on them," the President said.
Zelenskyy did not say whether these Chinese satellites were commercial or controlled by the Chinese government. According to him, Ukraine will share information with leaders at the UN General Assembly.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine will strengthen the protection of substations that are key to the operation of nuclear power plants (NPP).
In addition, Ukraine agreed with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to extend the agency's monitoring mission to key substations on which the stable operation of nuclear power plants depends.
It will be recalled that the mass attack of the russians on August 26 led to the shutdown of four nuclear units.
