The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Serhii Boiev as Deputy Minister of Defense for European Integration.
The Ministry of Defense has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, at the request of the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, appointed Serhii Boiev to the post of Deputy Minister of Defense for European Integration," the message reads.
Before his appointment, the 41-year-old Boiev worked as the Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries and European Integration from May 2023.
From 2018 to 2022, he headed the areas of strategy development, business analytics, investment management and business development at Naftogaz of Ukraine.
From 2016 to 2018, he was the business development director of PJSC UkrGasVydobuvannya.
From 2010 to 2014, he was a consultant and project manager at the Ukrainian office of The Boston Consulting Group consulting company.
From 2004 to 2009, he worked in the credit markets and investment banking teams at investment banks JP Morgan Chase and Credit Suisse.
Boiev holds a bachelor's degree in international economics from Vadym Hetman Kyiv National University of Economics, as well as a master's degree in business administration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania (U.S.).
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 1, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Deputy Defense Minister Stanislav Haider.
Earlier, the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov announced on Facebook that he sent a petition to the Cabinet of Ministers for the dismissal of Deputy Minister of Defense Stanislav Haider (he is moving to the position of the head of the Minister's Office), Oleksandr Serhii, Yurii Dzyhyr, as well as State Secretary Liudmyla Darahan.
