The Ministry of Economy expects all independent members of the supervisory board of the Ukrenergo national energy company to be appointed before December 9.
This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Economy, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The government has announced a competition for the selection of 3 independent members of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo. According to the announced competition, 3 independent members of the supervisory board of the state-owned company will be elected. The fourth independent member will be elected in parallel according to a previously launched similar transparent procedure," the message says.
The Ministry of Economy expects that by November 7, the selection consultant will carry out a preliminary evaluation of documents, interviews with applicants, and present a list of potential candidates for the vacant positions of 3 independent members of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo for consideration by the Nomination Committee.
According to Oleksii Sobolev, First Deputy Minister of Economy, the appointment of all independent members of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo should take place by December 9, 2024.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, foreign members of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo have not been paid for 4 months.
On September 5, the supervisory board of Ukrenergo appointed Oleksii Brekht as the acting chairman of the board.
On September 3, the chairman of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo, Daniel Dobbeni, and the member of the supervisory board, Peder Andreasen, decided to terminate their powers due to the unjustified dismissal of the company's head, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi.
They also stated about political pressure and constant attempts to bypass the competition to appoint people whose professional qualities are doubtful to the board of Ukrenergo.
According to the decision of the supervisory board of NPC Ukrenergo, the head of the company, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, was dismissed from his position on the evening of September 2.
