Ukraine and Croatia have agreed to develop cooperation between the defense and industrial complexes of the countries.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"I met with the Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković. Defense assistance and cooperation, humanitarian demining, rehabilitation of our children and wounded soldiers, reconstruction of Ukraine, our European integration became the topics of our negotiations. Also today we signed the Agreement on long-term support and cooperation between our states. Together we will develop cooperation between our defense industries. Croatia will continue to provide equipment and share knowledge on humanitarian demining," he said.
Zelenskyy thanked Croatia for supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians.
In particular, the agreement on long-term cooperation and support between Ukraine and Croatia provides that the parties will encourage cooperation between their defense and industrial complexes.
"In order to increase defense readiness, the Participants will encourage cooperation between their defense industrial complexes (defense industries), also taking into account their military experience. Ukraine's defense industry can become a powerful asset both for Ukraine and for Euro-Atlantic security. To this end, the Participants will determine the prospects for joint defense production, including the possibilities of joint projects with localization in Ukraine, with the aim of promoting common economic interests and strengthening strategic ties," the agreement states.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy arrived in Croatia on Wednesday, October 9, to meet with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and participate in the Ukraine – South East Europe Summit.
