On the night of Wednesday, October 9, russian troops launched 3 Iskander-M/KN-23 missiles and 22 attack drones on the territory of Ukraine, the air defense forces managed to destroy 21 enemy drones.
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of October 9, 2024, the enemy attacked the Poltava Region with three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Kursk Oblast - russia, and also launched 22 attack UAVs from Primorsko-Akhtarsk - russia, Cape Chauda - TOT Crimea.
"As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 21 enemy UAVs were shot down in the Odesa, Vinnytsia and Kyiv Regions; one more attack drone turned in the direction of Russia," the report says.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the attack.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of October 8, russian troops launched 19 Shahed attack drones over the territory of Ukraine, and also attacked the Odesa Region with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, the air defense forces managed to destroy 18 enemy drones, and 1 drone returned to russia.
