Slovakia will participate in any form of peace initiative to end the military conflict in Ukraine.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced this during a statement to the press after talks with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"I want to wish you peace. We know that it is not easy to achieve. We wish you a just peace, a peace that will respect your sovereignty and territorial integrity. We will support every position of the peace plan. We have a peace plan, the peace formula of President Zelenskyy. Such a plan is provided by the representatives of China. From our side, we will participate in any form of peace initiative that would lead to the end of the military conflict," he said.
Fico emphasized that Slovakia wants to be a component of the Peace Summit at both the highest and lower levels and is ready to hold a conference to resolve any issues that could be a component of such a summit.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Shmyhal previously announced that on Monday he and Slovak Prime Minister Fico will discuss Zelenskyy's peace plan, cooperation in infrastructure projects and energy security.
Ukraine plans to hold the second Peace Summit in November, to which russia will be invited.
Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, said that russia is actively promoting the Chinese-Brazilian plan to settle the war in Ukraine, alternative to the Ukrainian plan.
