The Cabinet of Ministers transferred the subsidiary of the State Company Ukrspecexport - Spetstechnoexport from the management of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Defense.
This was announced by the Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that in connection with the identified problems with receivables and other financial and economic violations, the Ministry of Defense initiated an audit of the activities of Spetstechnoexport.
The audit team encountered significant obstacles during the conduct of the internal audit, including limited access to documents and the accounting system. Among the main problems are non-granting of access to original documents, delays in providing information and incomplete answers to requests, which makes it difficult to conduct a full audit.
The Ministry of Defense notes that this is the first attempt by the ministry to verify the activities of Spetstechnoexport in the last two years, since the transition of the enterprise in 2022 from Ukroboronprom to the sphere of the Defense Intelligence.
It is noted that the audit is currently ongoing, and a final assessment of the company's performance will be available after its completion.
The Ministry of Defense also reported that as part of further reforms, it is planned to liquidate special importer companies with the transfer of their functions to the Defense Procurement Agency in order to avoid duplication of functions and increase the efficiency of defense processes.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in August 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers agreed to transfer the subsidiary of the state-owned company Ukrspecexport of the state self-supporting foreign trade enterprise Spetstechnoexport from the sphere of administration of the Ministry of Defense to the sphere of administration of the Defense Intelligence.
