U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump said he does not consider his strategy to end the war unleashed by russia to be "surrender".
He told journalists about this before a meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in New York, writes Voice of America.
"This is not surrender. My strategy is to save lives. I want to save lives. Millions of people are dead, millions more than they even think. And this is not my battle, but this is a battle to save humanity," Trump said and added that "this is a terrible war that would never have happened" if he had been president.
He repeated his thesis that he would be able to quickly reach a peace agreement between russian president vladimir putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. However, he did not go into details.
Recall that Trump declared that he has a good relationship with the russian dictator putin. Zelenskyy replied that he hopes that relations with him are still better [than with putin].
Besides, Zelenskyy invited Trump to visit Ukraine. He agreed.
