The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a bill that will allow 17-year-old men to register for the military through Reserve+ application.
The representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The draft of the Law "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Military Duty and Military Service" regarding the features of taking Ukrainian citizens to military registration has been approved," he wrote about the government's decision.
The bill proposes to provide an opportunity for male citizens of Ukraine, who turn 17 in the year of military registration, to register as conscripts by going through electronic identification and clarifying their personal data using the Electronic Cabinet of conscripts, those liable for military service, reservists.
Also, according to the draft law, 17-year-old men will be able to register by personally arriving at the appropriate district (city) territorial center of recruitment and social support within a specified period.
It is also proposed to exclude from the Law "On Military Obligation and Military Service" the provisions on the formation and operation of the commission on the issue of military registration of conscripts, the need to undergo a medical examination, and the normalization of the possibility for citizens who are registered as conscripts to undergo electronic identification and clarification of their personal data using the electronic account of a conscript, those liable for military service, reservist.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, men between the ages of 17 and 25 will be automatically registered as conscripts, including those who are abroad.
