Over the past day, September 21, russian troops lost 1,500 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. The total losses of the russian federation since the beginning of the full-scale invasion are approximately 642,420 people.
This is stated in the daily summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Losses in equipment for the past day are as follows:
- tanks - 8,768 (+22);
- armored combat vehicles - 17,222 (+52);
- artillery systems - 18,333 (+63);
- MLRS - 1,195 (+2);
- air defense means - 949;
- planes - 369;
- helicopters - 328;
- UAVs of the operational-tactical level - 15,628 (+67);
- cruise missiles - 2,595;
- ships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- automotive equipment and tank trucks - 25,023 (+57);
- special equipment - 3,144 (+19).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in November 2023, The Economist wrote that Ukraine allegedly lost at least 70,000 people killed.
The Wall Street Journal published an article stating that the total losses of Ukraine and russia since February 2022 have reached one million people.
Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Roman Kostenko said that the information about Ukraine's losses in the article of the American publication The Wall Street Journal is exaggerated.
