In almost three years since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the army of the aggressor country russia has already lost more than 10,000 tanks and armored fighting vehicles.
This is evidenced by information on the Oryx website, which is engaged in calculating the losses of the russian army.
According to Oryx analysts, since the beginning of the invasion, the russians have lost 10,037 units of tanks and other armored vehicles.
This includes infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, and Mine Resistant Ambush-Protected vehicles (MRAP).
Of these, 7,271 units of equipment were destroyed. 366 units were damaged, 873 units were abandoned.
In addition, another 1,527 pieces of equipment were captured by the Ukrainian military.
Most of the losses of russian tanks are attributed to various modifications of the T-72. The russians also lost 159 of their most modern T-90 tanks of various modifications.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in July of this year, the German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) wrote that if the current pace of hostilities in russia is maintained, there will be enough equipment for just another 2-3 years.
The Economist previously reported that next year the russian army may be forced to go on the defensive due to a lack of armored vehicles.
