Zelenskyy on Patriot air defense systems: they are not enough, but reality is more positive than official information

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has noted regarding the number of Patriot air defense systems in Ukraine that they are not enough, but the reality is more positive than official information.

Zelenskyy said this while participating in the annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"I would pay attention to air defense. You said that we have 4 Patriots. I can't say how many, but I would say that they are not enough, they are very insufficient, but thank God the reality is more positive than official information," he said.

At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized the insufficiency of the supply of missiles by the Western partners for the already delivered air defense systems.

"Patriots, NASAMS or IRIS-T, or our other systems - they all work and it is desirable that they work with missiles," he noted.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, at the beginning of September, the Romanian government approved a bill that allows the free transfer of a Patriot air defense system to Ukraine, and sent it to the parliament for consideration.

Earlier, Zelenskyy said that in order to completely close the sky of Ukraine, it is necessary to have 25 Patriot systems. At the same time, he noted that for the protection of the sky, this is not the only system that Ukraine needs, but it is the most powerful.
