Former head of the Ukrenergo national energy company, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, believes that in the absence of new large-scale shelling, regular power outages may return in December.
He told about this in an interview with Economic Pravda, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We have already removed the main part of the damage after the last massive attack, so there are no problems on the Ukrenergo network. We have enough generation because the heat has subsided and consumption has decreased. Until there is a new heat wave or some other remark at some large generating facility, such as a nuclear plant, we should, in principle, have enough electricity. We predicted that in September-October the situation with the balance may be calm, if there are no new large-scale shelling," Kudrytskyi said.
At the same time, in his opinion, in the absence of new large-scale shelling, regular power outages may return in December.
"I would bet more on December. In November, the heating season will begin throughout the country, but there may not be cold weather in November. Cold weather will be the trigger for introducing restrictions on electricity consumption," Kudrytskyi said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Kudrytskyi believes that Ukraine will not face a disaster with the electricity this winter.
