The Verkhovna Rada has appointed deputy head of the Office of the President Andrii Yermak Mykola Tochytskyi as the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications.
252 parliamentarians voted for the relevant decision, with the minimum required 226.
Member of Parliament from the Holos faction, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Tochytskyi was born on September 22, 1967 in Vinnytsia.
In 1993, he graduated from the T. Shevchenko Kyiv State University (philologist, French and English translator), in 1995 - Institute of International Relations of the T. Shevchenko Kyiv State University named (international lawyer), in 1999 he completed his studies at the Geneva Center for Security Policy.
In 2021-2024, he was Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine under Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
In April 2024, Andrii Yermak was appointed deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
According to the media, Tochytskyi and Yermak were fellow students at the Institute of International Relations of the T. Shevchenko Kyiv State University.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 27, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers assigned the duties of the Minister of Culture and Information Policy to First Deputy Minister of Culture Rostyslav Karandeev.
